Fourteenth Regional Seminar on Good Governance for Southeast Asian Countries
The 14th Regional Seminar on Good Governance for Southeast Asian Countries, known as the GG seminar, was hosted by UNAFEI on 23 and 24 March 2021. It was the first GG seminar which took place entirely online. The theme of the seminar was "Integrity and Independence of Judges, Prosecutors and Law Enforcement Officials". Fourteen criminal justice practitioners who dealt with corruption issues from eight ASEAN countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand) as well as Timor-Leste participated. Mr. Lawrence Chung from the Independent Commission Against Corruption in Hong Kong delivered a lecture as a Visiting Expert.
Each participant made a presentation regarding the legal system and practices in his or her country on the theme of the seminar. The participants' presentations also shared the latest situation of corruption and best practices in the participating countries. The seminar was concluded by the presentation of the Chair's Summary of the discussions.
