The Comparative Study on the Criminal Justice Systems of Japan and Nepal
Since 2013, UNAFEI has conducted the Comparative Study on the Criminal Justice Systems of Japan and Nepal, based on the request from the Office of the Attorney General of Nepal (OAG). The participating agencies are: the OAG, Supreme Court, National Judicial Academy and Nepal Police. The main purpose of the Comparative Study is to analyse the issues from a comparative point of view and improve the practice of the criminal justice system in Nepal through, inter alia, (i) obtaining knowledge on the criminal justice system in Japan, and (ii) learning Japanese practices by visiting criminal-justice-related facilities and discussing with Japanese experts.
