During the webinar, two UNAFEI professors made short presentations on the challenges and measures to respond to the pandemic in the treatment of offenders in Japan. Approximately 110 alumni participated in the webinar. Participants were able to ask questions to the speakers and share their own experiences. The webinar also included brief updates from experts on the situations in Europe and Latin America. After the formal session, an online reunion took place in which the participants were able to provide personal and professional updates.
We appreciate the participation of alumni from all over the world, especially those who logged in at unfriendly times because of the time differences. The webinar provided a great forum not only for sharing measures in different criminal justice systems to cope with the unprecedented difficulty caused by COVID-19, but also for strengthening our alumni network.
The next webinar, which will focus on investigation, prosecution and adjudication issues, will take place in November.
